Creekview setter Katie Battani has come up big for the Lady Grizzlies this season, helping guide the school to its first state tournament appearance. Battani logged five blocks, three kills and 11 assists Saturday when Creekview claimed the No. 3 seed in the Area 5AA/A tournament and head coach John Edwards said the junior has great intensity on the court.
"She is real competitive," he said. "This year, she made really big strides and is one of our captains. (She is) leading the team, making sure they are ready to play, doing those things on and off the court as far as setting a good example."

Congratulations Katie - great way to make the news! Keep up the good work - you are a beautiful young lady, inside and out. I like them calling you "long" instead of "tall". Love you, Nana
