Dorothy Knight Brooke was born April 5, 1925 in Randolph County, AL and passed away May 2, 2013 at her home in White, GA. Dorothy graduated from Berry College. She devoted her life to education and spent the majority of her professional career at Canton Elementary. She was a devoted wife, a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of The Gideons International. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, John Brooke; daughter, Melanie Brooke; granddaughter, Morgan Campey; grandsons, John Donaldson and Chad Donaldson; great grandsons, Chase and William Donaldson; brother-in-law, Travis Jackson of Carrolton, GA; sister-in-law, Miriam Sikes of Montgomery, AL; nephews, Dan Holder, Wayne Holder, Kenneth Breimer, Doug Breimer, Bayron Knight of Alabama, and Clay Jackson of Carrollton, GA; nieces, Susan Jackson of Houston, TX, Sharon Long (Dan) of Savannah, GA and Barbara Fields (Ronnie) of FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, George D. and Leslie Willingham Knight of Lineville AL; sisters and spouses Boving and Donald Holder, Pebble and William Breimer; sister, Kathleen Jackson and brother, Bayron Ray Knight of Sylacauga, AL. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Heritage Baptist Fellowship with Rev. Jake Hall and Rev. Nathan Brandon officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Brooke will lie- in-state at the church Friday from 10:00 am until the funeral hour.
