DEAR EDITOR:

Why is Councilman Glen Cummins seemingly the only one committed to a full assessment of a possible consolidation with the county for fire services?

The taxpayers are fed up with the ever increasing burden of costs for city, county, state and federal services.

A few more of our city councilmen would be well advised to adopt a position more in line with Mr. Cummins: If we have to provide a service, do it at its lowest cost.
