The 17th annual Woodstock Freedom Run will take place Thursday at 7:30 a.m. in downtown Woodstock. The race kicks off at Main Street and Arnold Mill Road.
More than 40 doctors and staff members from Woodstock Dentistry for Children and Woodstock Orthodontics and other area offices will be on hand to provide free orthodontic exams and giveaways.
At booths located at the race starting line and at The Park at City Center, participants can enter for a chance to win free braces and take home $750-off coupons and free whitening kits.
For the children, Luna the Tooth Fairy will be at the Tot Trot finish line to allow children the opportunity to run to the Tooth Fairy as they finish the race.
Children who visit the booth can receive complimentary autographed copies of “Luna and Lionel: The Night of the Tooth Fairy Trap.”
Patrons who schedule an appointment at the race will receive $1,000 off an orthodontic plan. Others can qualify for the $750-off special by starting treatment by Sept. 30.
The race is part of the day’s activities in Woodstock to celebrate July 4. A parade starts at 10 a.m. There will be activities downtown during the day and fireworks that night.
The Park at City Center will have food and live music by Steven Phillips and Midnight Express Band until 3 p.m. There will be children’s games, a cake walk, arts and crafts and vendors.
The celebration will conclude at dusk with fireworks behind the Target shopping center at Highway 92 and Interstate 575.
