Sherman Clarence Herndon, age 85, of Canton, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. He was a mill worker at Canton Textile Mill and was of Baptist faith. Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, December 31, 2010, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. Horace Richards officiating. Interment followed in Goshen Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Myrtice Ruth Herndon, Canton; daughters, Diane (Chris) Hames, Janice (Walter) Fulton and Debra Herndon, all of Canton; grandson, Zachary Hames; brother, J.W. Herndon, Canton; several nieces and nephews. The family received friends on Wednesday and Thursday and until the funeral hour on Friday.
