High school graduations begin Thursday

CHEROKEE — High school graduations begin Thursday at 4 p.m. with Sequoyah High School at the First Baptist Church of Woodstock.

Graduations for Sequoyah, River Ridge, Etowah, Woodstock, Creekview and Cherokee high schools will all be at the First Baptist Church of Woodstock, located at 11905 Highway 92.

Sequoyah seniors have been asked to arrive at the church Thursday at 2:30 p.m. for their 4 p.m. graduation. The River Ridge graduation ceremony is the same day at 8 p.m.

Etowah’s ceremony is Friday at 4 p.m., and Woodstock’s will be later the same day at 8 p.m. On Saturday Creekview will have its graduation at 9 a.m., and Cherokee’s ceremony will be at 1 p.m.

All six graduations are open to the general public.

Northside Christian Academy will hold its graduation ceremony Saturday at 6 p.m. with keynote speaker Rick Steiner, member of the Cherokee County Board of Education, and special guest Doug Anderson, who won the 2012 Dove Award for Country Music Album of the Year and the Absolute Gospel Award for Male Vocalist of the Year.
