Kellogg Creek Road in Acworth remains closed after police say a drunk driver hit a telephone pole and brought power lines down across the road.

Shana Lenoir, 21, of Cartersville, was arrested around 1 a.m. Friday morning after her car hit a telephone pole near Hill Lane, said Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

“The pole fell to the ground and caused power lines to fall,” Baker said in a release Friday morning.

Kellogg Creek Road is closed in both directions near Hill Lane while Cobb EMC is working to repair damages, Baker said.

Lenoir is charged with driving under the influence and weaving over roadway, Baker said.

She is being held in the Cherokee Adult Detention Center with a $2,200 bond.
