Mr. Leonard Lewis, 80, of Canton, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2012 at Kindred Hospital in Rome. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Charles Davis and Rev. Ivan Watkins officiating. Entombment will follow in the Cherokee Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 pm – 10 pm and all Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Lewis served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. He attended Canton Community Church and was a retired parts technician. Leonard was a proud supporter and member of the UGA Bulldog Club. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jacob Lewis; Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Carol Lewis; sons, Steven Lewis of Las Vegas, NV and David (Frances) Lewis of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Samuel, Sarah, Jessica and Jennifer Lewis; sister-in-law, Dianne Phillips of Madison, GA; brother-in-law, Gerald (Carolyn) Hosea of Smyrna; several nieces and nephews.
