The “Romney-Ryan Rally” is Sunday at Hobgood Park at the Towne Lake Amphitheater starting at 4 p.m.
Supporters are invited to bring a blanket and lawn chair and help cheer Romney to victory, said event coordinator Lori Pesta.
The event is free and open to the public.
“This is a ‘get out the vote’ rally; it is very important to rally and cheer our Republican ticket,” Pesta said. “This is a chance to be a part of the election process over and above voting.”
The keynote speaker will be state Attorney General Sam Olens, who is also Romney’s state chairman for the campaign.
Other notables include Georgia Public Service Commissioner “Bubba” McDonald, who is going to sing the national anthem and “God Bless America.”
Georgia’s Sens. Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson are expected to attend the event, as are U.S. Congressman Phil Gingrey (R-Marietta) and Rep. Lynne Riley.
“This is a chance to hear from the national side of the campaign,” Pesta said. “We have the attorney general for him, and that is encouraging.”
Live music will be performed by recording artist Beau Davidson of Nashville, and there will be other live entertainment during the event.
Food including hot dogs and ice cream will be offered for sale.
The event will also include a “Tribute to Our Veterans” sky dive, Pesta said, as well as a family honor guard to present the colors.
“I have supported Mitt Romney since he first announced. He is experienced, he is presidential, and e has a business background, which is essential to run our country,” Pesta said of her candidate. “He is not an inside Washington person, he will be a true asset to the country.”
