MUST partners with fast food restaurants for a good cause

The four Chick-fil-A restaurants in Cherokee County are shaking things up in September for a good cause.

The restaurants have launched a campaign partnered with MUST Ministries to raise awareness of the new facility planned for the nonprofit in Cherokee County.

To help reach the goal for the new building, Chick-fil-A’s of Cherokee County are holding their first-ever September MUST Shake Sale.

Running all September, a county-wide initiative will offer guests a complimentary milkshake if they donate $2 or more to MUST Cherokee.

Chick-fil-A is committed to raising $4,000.

MUST Ministries has clearly outgrown their current facility, according to Kevin Williams, owner of the two restaurants in Canton.

There are four Chick-fil-A’s restaurants in Cherokee County: Woodstock Dwarf House, Chick-fil-A Towne Lake, Canton Marketplace, and Riverstone Parkway.

Last year MUST Ministries had 14,983 food requests along with 16,330 clothing request.

Along with job assistance they provided one ton of food to needy families each day.

This new location will allow MUST to reach out and serve more people, Williams said.

“We started the September MUST Shake Sale to engage our guests about the serious issue of helping those in need in our county,” said Williams. “We wanted to thank everyone of our guests who make a donation to MUST Cherokee with a free shake, and in doing so help people feel great about giving back.”

In 2009, Chick-fil-A Canton Marketplace supported MUST with sales of the first 1,000 milkshakes when it opened the location.

Chick-fil-A has announced the Limited Time Peach Milkshake during this campaign.

“MUST has been fortunate to have a long-standing partnership with Chick-fil-A, and we are thrilled they are strengthening their support for MUST by engaging Cherokee County customers to make this new location a reality,” said Howard Cox, MUST Ministry.

“The strength of Chick-fil-A’s brand, the commitment of its employees and the enthusiasm of its customers will be instrumental in helping raise funds for this community. We are excited to work with them toward our shared goal of making sure this new location becomes a reality.”
