Ingham County Prosecutor Stuart J. Dunnings III says investigators interviewed more than 50 witnesses to the Aug. 26 beating of 19-year-old Zach Tennen of Franklin in suburban Detroit. Dunnings says there’s no evidence of ethnic, religious or racial bias in the fight at an off-campus house party in East Lansing.
A police report identified one suspect, an 18-year-old Farmington Hills man.
Tennen’s lawyer, Henry M. Scharg, says in a letter dated Monday that the investigation was "full and fair." Scharg did not respond to a call from The Associated Press seeking comment Thursday.
