Mrs. Jan Popham, 64, of Ball Ground, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Kennestone Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 am Wednesday, January 2, 2012 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Greg Long and Bro. E.C. Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday after 5 pm, all day Monday and Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Popham was a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church. She worked for Cherokee County Board of Education in food services and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Cherokee County Shrine Club Cherokettes. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Carl Popham; children, Bruce Popham, Rodney Popham and Lisa Adams all of Ball Ground; mother, Irene Samples Charles of Jasper; sisters, Judy Popham of Japser and Linda Pugh of Dawsonville; 8 grandchildren, 1 expectant great-grandchild; in-laws, Peggy Samples, Ellen Samples, Junior White and Mark and Joan Popham; several nieces and nephews.
