Kai Williams, 18, was the third man to be apprehended and charged in the case.
Dennis Karimi, 23, Brandon Terrel, 22, and Williams, all of Canton, remain at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center on a $11,200 bond each, said Lt. Jay Baker, public information officer with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office.
The arrests were made after a neighbor, Anthony Willis, said he saw the suspects engage in suspicious activity in the 1400 block of Keeter Road in Canton, authorities said.
Willis observed the suspects in the backyard of the home placing a ladder against a window, Baker said.
Willis told the Tribune the suspects went up to the house and were banging on the doors of the home.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene when the suspects were trying to gain entry into the home, and the suspects fled on foot, authorities said.
Baker said the first two suspects were initially caught about a quarter of a mile from the home with the help of uniform patrol, K-9 and warrant division deputies who “saturated the area immediately.”
The third suspect was later caught on foot.
“Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division were able to identify and locate the third suspect through interviews and perseverance,” Baker said.
Baker said all three suspects had been incarcerated at the adult detention center at one time or another “for a variety of charges” before being apprehended on Friday.
