The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help from the public in finding a missing Canton woman who fled into the woods in Holly Springs after cutting her wrist Monday night.

Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office said in a release Tuesday morning that deputies have been searching for Starla Holloway Triplett, 25, since about 9:30 p.m. Monday night.

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the entrance of the Taylors Farm subdivision in Holly Springs where Triplett’s boyfriend reported the two had been in an argument and she cut her wrist and ran into the woods, Baker said.

“Due to the minimal amount of blood loss at the scene, it doesn’t appear that Triplett’s wounds are life threatening,” Baker said.

Triplett has misdemeanor warrants out for her arrest for failure to appear, Baker said.

Sheriff’s deputies have been using K-9s to search for Triplett as well as a Georgia State Patrol helicopter. Cherokee Fire and Emergency Services, Cherokee County Search and Rescue, the Holly Springs Police Department and GSP Aviation have also aided so far, Baker said.

Anyone with information on Triplett’s location is urged to call 911.
