Margaret “Joan” Seastrand, age 89, of Woodstock, died February 3, 2013 in Woodstock, GA. Joan was born on November 14, 1923 in Peekskill, NY, the daughter of Arthur and Margaret (Lent) Marquart. She graduated with honors from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY in 1944, and she earned her Master’s Degree from Colombia University, NY. She was a beloved mother and grandmother who brought joy to her whole family. She was preceded in death in 1983 by her husband of 37 years, Harry E. Seastrand. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy M. (David) Freeman, of Woodstock, and Joni M. (Kevin) McClusky, of Lilburn; seven grandchildren, Michelle Nealey, Jennifer McIntyre, Lisa Coxworth, Kevin McClusky, Caitlin Stauf, Shannon Blasick, and Padraic McClusky; eight great-grandchildren, Sean and Peyton Nealey, Lachlan and Liam McIntyre, Caroline and Caitlin Coxworth, and Noah and Jake Blasick. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 6, 3:00 PM at Antioch Christian Church with Rev. Ken May officiating. Interment will take place in Peekskill, NY. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, 7-9 pm at the funeral home.
