All southbound lanes were blocked as authorities investigated the wreck, which happened before 5 a.m. Wednesday north of Wade Green Road in Cobb County.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the left lane was reopened shortly after 6 a.m. Two more lanes were reopened about 30 minutes later, but southbound traffic remained jammed approaching the wreck scene.
Details of what caused the crash were not immediately available early Wednesday.
WSB-TV reports that the truck was hauling potatoes when it overturned on the freeway.
