With the release of the League’s latest cookbook offering in late September, the organization of women which assists needy children in Cherokee County is also helping out holiday cooks.
Those who need a great recipe for the holidays can find just what they are looking for in “Gatherings and Traditions,” and the funds raised by the sales of the cookbook will go to children in need of a helping hand.
The cookbook was created around the premise that every cook has a great recipe to take to potlucks, holiday dinners and family reunions, said cookbook Chairwoman Lisa Woodruff.
“You need those go-to dishes, the ones you like taking to others,” Woodruff said. “Of course the cookbook contains lots of comfort foods that are great this time of year for a holiday dinner or party or taking to a friend who has just had a baby or sickness.”
And at $14.95, the cookbook is also a great gift to give or to keep.
“Of course, the price makes it very affordable. It is attractive and will fit most kitchens and has recipes for holiday parties and events,” Woodruff said.
Recipes such as Heirloom Cream Cheese Pound Cake and variations from Molly Mercer, Stuffed Croissant French Toast from Woodruff, Cannon’s Sweet Potato Soufflé from Jory Cannon and Beef Stroganoff from Wanda Roach will help cooks find the perfect dishes to serve this holiday season.
The cookbook is available at locations all around Cherokee County, including Chamberhouse, Free Home Traditions, Morgan’s ACE Hardware, Northside Pharmacy, Tea Leaves & Thyme, Three Sisters, What a Girl Wants, Woodstock Pharmacy and Yawn’s Books and More.
