DEAR EDITOR: Whoever said “Common sense is not so common after all” nailed it.

Instead of correcting the time, trouble and money for special elections caused by greedy job-hopping politicians, we’re going to penalize the voters. Is this stupid or what?

If these self-seeking opportunists desert their elected term, just leave that office vacant until the next regular election.

Why should I be penalized as a voter and taxpayer for these jerks? Why not require when someone is elected to public office and resigns to go after a better job, fine them according to the time left not served and put their money in an election fund?

Why do bureaucrats leave their brains at home to solve simple problems?
