TOMLIN, J. L.
Mr. J. L. Tomlin, 90, of Woodstock, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Woodstock Church of Christ with Ministers, Brian Collins and Lamar Russell officiating. Interment will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Friday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Sosebee Funeral Home. Mr. Tomlin served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He retired from GM with over 30 years of service and was a devoted member of Woodstock Church of Christ. JL enjoyed fishing, traveling and music. He was preceded in death by his wife, Freda Louise Tomlin; brothers, Floyd, Gene and Alan Tomlin; sister, Beulah Mae Sewell. Survivors include his wife, Betty McClendon Tomlin; children, Phyllis Tomlin West, Gayle Tomlin Goodwin and Mike Tomlin all of Woodstock; half-brother, Harry Tomlin of Alabama; 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
