From staff reports

A single-vehicle accident Friday afternoon in Canton sent two teens to a local hospital.

Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services spokesman Tim Cavender said county fire personnel and members of the Canton Fire Department responded to the accident at about 4:50 p.m. on Killian Road at the intersection of Brickmill Road.

A black Jeep Cherokee apparently left the roadway and landed on its top, Cavender said.

“The 16-year-old female driver had a possible head injury and was transported in stable condition,” Cavender said. “An 18-year-old female passenger in the back was complaining of back pain, plus she had cuts and bruises and was also in stable condition.”

Both were transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, he said.

According to Val Hice, Med Con operator and paramedic for Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services, three other male passengers did not have any serious injuries.

Killian Road was blocked until the cleanup operation was complete.

Cavender said the cause of the accident is under investigation
