I keep hearing that Republicans are waging a war on women.
The TV news tells me that conservatives don’t care about women’s issues. I have a question. What, exactly are the issues that apply primarily to women?
Apparently, the liberal folks believe that the only issues important to women have to do with having someone else take responsibility for their reproductive practices. If the reports are to be believed, women, every single one of them will overlook anything as long as someone else pays for their birth-control or for an abortion when they forget to use the birth control.
I have seen what happens when women band together against a common enemy. It’s called the Susan G. Komen Three-Day Walk. My wife and about 1,6oo of her friends walked this year and raised almost $4.5 million dollars. All I can say is that I would not want to be on breast cancer’s side in this war.
Let me just observe that, if there is a war being waged against women, and if my wife, mother, mother-in-law and two daughters are any indication, deserters from the cause are going to rule the day, and the “War on Women” will be fought…and won, mostly by women.
Of course, this is an unscientific sampling based on personal experience with one very courageous and caring woman and 1,600 of her like-minded (and like-hearted) friends. It probably doesn’t reflect what women think.
