Even though I'm very involved in the Republican political arena, today driving thru Towne Lake, I was overwhelmed with all the political signs in front of the elections sites and the parkway. Of course I expect that during a campaign season, but ..... all shapes, sizes, colors and designs.
Some very creative and others really uncalled for and disrespectful.
Our candidates step up to win your vote because they believe in their hearts they can make a positive difference, just like our founding fathers.
Candidates place themselves in a very vulnerable position as well as their families. How do you explain to a small child at church why someone doesn't like his Daddy because he’s running for office?
How do you stand up in our community to make a positive difference and not be trashed?
Why has our society taken such a negative approach to electing our leadership.
Is it because you don't need to go face to face and look someone in the eyes when you call them names?
Competition is good for all of us, however, dirty campaigning is not about the facts.
Obama has implemented a nasty negative disrespectful campaign against Gov. Romney. Primarily due to the fact he has no positive record to run on. He needs to distract the voters with deceit and abstract truths.
Perhaps this is the process representing some of our candidates in the newly defined DST 11 race. Some have no positive record to present so they distort the truth and out and out lie. Very disappointing and the voters really suffer the affects of such negativity and disrespect. Voters lose respect for our political process when distortion and lying is involved. Many people just say, “they are politicians so what do you expect?” This approach is exactly what I’m trying to clarify. Why does our political process need to present such a negative image? It turns people off!
As we move forward into the presidential race, Obama and media will continue to trash our Republican nominee: call him a racist, wimp, etc. We need to push forward past the “trash” and support the MITT ROMNEY campaign in Cherokee County. I personally congratulate all our “factual” candidates and wish them the very best and thank them all for stepping up, wanting to serve our county and our great state of GA.
