WALESKA – Classical guitarist Robert Belinić will perform at Reinhardt University’s Falany Performing Arts Center today at 7:30 p.m.

At the age of 8, Belinić became a national celebrity in his home country of Croatia as the child star of “Tale from Croatia,” the first film released in the newly independent country.

Having performed internationally, Belinić now comes to North Georgia performing at the Falany Performing Arts Center.

Belinić has also performed Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez in 2008 with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, conducted by Michael Stern, and a solo recital at the Morgan Library and Museum.

In 2002, he received the Ivo Vuljević Award for outstanding young Croatian musicians and was a prize winner of the 2006 Parkening International Guitar Competition in California.

Other awards include the Young Concert Artists European Auditions in German. He later became the first guitarist to win the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for seniors 55 and older, and children 12 and younger. Additional service charges could apply.
