Authorities are working to identify a body pulled from a badly burned car Wednesday night, after the car appears to have left Ball Ground Highway near the Dodd Lane intersection in flames, before crashing into a ditch. The body was sent to the Georgia Crime Lab on Thursday morning, and had not been identified by Thursday afternoon, said Tim Cavender, Cherokee Fire and Emergency Services spokesman.
