Five people were indicted this month on charges stemming from what authorities believe to be a multi-state methamphetamine trafficking ring in the Hickory Flat community. The five were arrested in August when the Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad searched a home on Vaughn Road and found 14 ounces of methamphetamine valued at $21,000, four guns and $7,874 in cash.
