Ball Ground man guilty on 24 animal cruelty charges

A local man was found guilty on a total of 58 counts this month, about half of which were for animal cruelty, and sentencing is set for next month. Rud Tietjen, 55, of Ball Ground was found guilty on 24 counts of cruelty to animals and 34 counts of improper disposal of dead animals, after 19 dogs and a cat were taken from his house in October 2013, in what officials said was a case of “serious neglect.” A sentencing is set for Tietjen o...
