Allstate Insurance Company Field Sales Leader Chuck McGhee of Canton recently was honored by the company earning the coveted Key Manager Award for the 20th time.
McGhee, who leads more than 30 Allstate agencies in the Fulton County area, was presented with a new watch for this rare distinction during a recently held National Company convention in Chicago. He and his wife, Mirian, also were honored at the Key Manager's Conference held in New York City.
McGhee has served Allstate since 1973, including the Atlanta area since 1989. McGhee, who graduated from Miles Law school, was admitted to the Alabama Bar in 1996. He earned a bachelor's degree in Business from Tuskegee University.
He and his wife have two adult daughters, Ebony and Bronze, who jointly own a chain of dance studios and manage a nonprofit organization. McGhee serves on the board of directors of the Mimms Boys & Girls Club in Cherokee County and SISTA Inc. He also is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and Allen Temple AME Church in Woodstock.
Book shop opens in Woodstock
Book Browser, a family owned and operated used book store in Woodstock, now is open.
The store, at 295 Molly Lane off Highway 92, is owned by Joseph and Donna Stewart, both of whom work at Cherokee High School.
The Stewarts said they opened the store "to bring the adventure of books to the community at a low cost."
The store offers discounts to teachers and employees in the education systems. The couple said they also hope to work with the local public and private schools to provide access to required reading books.
Store hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
