Leonard Wallace Allred, age 86, of Canton, died on Monday, January 24, 2011, at North Fulton Regional Hospital Mr. Allred was of Baptist faith, a WWII Army Veteran and a retired Georgia National Guard Full Bird Colonel. He was a member of the Canton Moose Family Center and the Pilgrim Moose Fraternity, American Legion Post 45 and Canton VFW. He was the founder and former member of the Cavaliers Gospel Quartet. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2011, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. Ivan Watkins officiating. Interment will follow in Oakdale Baptist Church Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Free Allred. Survivors include his son, Wally Allred, Canton; daughters, Evelyn (Bob) Randolph, Alpharetta and Paula Lathem, Canton; grandchildren, Josh Lathem, Andrea Albertson and Katy Adams; and 7 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. A Pilgrim Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
