J.C. Champion, 82 of Ball Ground, GA passed away Tuesday, January 25 at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday January 28, from the Darby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Bishop and Rev. Shannon Kelley officiating. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park. Family will receive friends on Wednesday 5-9 p.m. and Thursday 11 a.m.- 9 p.m. Survivors include daughters & son-in-law, Wanda & Steve Fowler, Ball Ground, GA; Pam Goedhart, Ball Ground, GA; Monta Williams, Ball Ground, GA; brother, Hoyt Champion, Canton, GA; 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. Mr. Champion was predeceased by wife, Ruth Champion. Family requests that In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cure It For Kids in honor of great granddaughter, Abigail Kelley for Pediatric Brain Tumor Research.
