Mrs. Elizabeth C. Hester, 73, of Waleska, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Quinton Memorial Nursing Home in Dalton. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2011 at the Waleska First Baptist Church with Pastor Herman Williams and Rev. Eddie Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Briar Patch Cemetery. Mrs. Hester will lie-in-state Friday at the church from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. The family will receive friends Thursday all day at Sosebee Funeral Home. Mrs. Hester was a retired bus driver from Cherokee County Board of Education and a member of Waleska First Baptist Church. Survivors include her children, Glenn A. (Tabatha) Hester of Waleska and Tracy (Eddie) Patterson of Dalton; sisters, Barbara (Fred) McDougal of Waleska, Joan (Kenneth) Pritchett of Waleska and Gwen (Eddie) Parker of Keithsburg; sisters-in-law, Judy Crowe of Waleska and Florence Crowe of the Clayton Community; 7 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
