Winchester Woodfire Grill eatery closes

The Winchester Woodfire Grill in Canton has closed.

The upscale restaurant on Hickory Flat Highway at the entrance to Mountain View neighborhood was opened in June 2003 by owner R.L. "Randy" Glosson.

The eatery was known not only for its food and spirits, but also its Western decor and artwork and musical performances.

Chamber to welcome two more

Two local businesses will celebrate joining the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce will ribbon-cuttings later this month.

The ceremony for American Pillar Nursery is at 10 a.m. March 16 at 106 Village Court in Woodstock. The nursery and landscape supplies business is operated by Mavis and John Houser. The phone number is (678) 557-2163.

The ceremony for Book Browser is at 11 a.m. on March 22 at 295 Molly Lane, Suite 130 in Woodstock. The bookstore is operated by Jamie Stewart. The phone number is (770) 384-8644.
