Raymond D. "Buck" Beck, Sr., 81, of Canton, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Todd McGee officiating. Interment will be held at 2 p.m. at Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Sosebee Funeral Home. Mr. Beck was a retired truck driver for Sears and Roebuck. He attended Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Free Home and was an active member of the American Legion for many years. Buck was a farmer; he enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. In years past he loved taking his children to the lake and teaching them to water ski. He was an avid bowler. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with them. Survivors include his children, Shirley Ann Litt, Raymond D. "Randy" Beck, Jr., Betty Ann Boatright, Kathrine I. (Gary Lee) Osborne-Lee, Sidney G. Beck, Sr.; mother of his children, Vonice C. "Bonnie" Beck; sister, Gretha Glore, grandchildren, Shana (Chris) Walden, Kerry (Jennifer) Osborne, Angel (Billy) Maner, Meranda (Gary) Fowler, Nolan (Michelle) Boatright and Sidney (Jisco) Beck, Jr.; great-grandchildren, L.J., Cody, Preston, Nicholas, Blake, Andrew, Avery, Gavin, Savannah, Tori, Mallie, Aiden and Kai; several nieces, cousins and special niece, Betty Sue Densmore; Sosebee Funeral Home, Canton, GA, honored to serve the family. 770-479-2131.
