BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) _ A federal judge in Brunswick has dismissed charges against a former Blackshear po-lice officer and a woman who had been indicted as co-defendants with her family in an illegal firearm sales case.

Chief U.S. District Judge Lisa Godbey Wood dismissed the federal indictment this week against 33-year-old Ja-son R. Yarbrough and 22-year-old Cierra C. Chancey.

The two had been indicted along with her father and brother after an investigation into gun sales at the family’s pawnshops.

Yarbrough had faced charges of conspiracy, selling a firearm to a prohibited person and making a false statement about the sale of a firearm.

Cierra Chancey’s father, Karl A. Chancey, pleaded guilty to receiving a firearm while under indictment. Her brother, Chad Chancey, pleaded guilty to failing to properly record a firearms transaction.
