ACWORTH — The North Metro campus of Chattahoochee Tech reopened about 2:30 p.m. Thursday after a gas leak off-campus forced an evacuation earlier in the day.

School spokeswoman Rebecca Long said a construction crew working adjacent to the campus hit a gas main about 11:15 a.m. Thursday.

No one was injured by the gas leak, Long said. About 3,000 students are enrolled at the North Metro campus, and she estimated there were about 800 students on campus at the time.
