The proposed school boundary revisions, which will take affect in the 2012-13 school year, are needed, as the district in August 2012 will open a new elementary school on Hunt Road. District staff held meetings with parents at Boston and Oak Grove elementary schools to discuss possible changes.
School board members will also consider approving awarding the lowest bidder to issue tax anticipation notes in the amount of $17 million. School leaders are issuing the notes, which will be repaid once property taxes are collected, since the budget year begins before taxes are due.
Other items on the agenda include:
* Update on capital outlay projects;
* An overview of the 2012 Legislative Priorities, which outlines the district’s concerns for the 2012 legislative session; and
* An annual update to its five-year strategic plan, which outlines how the district will implement its major system priorities.
