WINDER, Ga. (AP) _ A man accused of killing a woman whose body was found in a Georgia well has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and aggravated assault.

The Athens Banner-Herald reports that James Lynn entered the pleas Monday in Barrow County Superior Court.

Authorities say the body of his wife, Tonya Faye Lynn, was found in the well about 20 to 30 feet below ground in July.

An autopsy found that she died of injuries from blunt force trauma.

Police have said they began investigating after relatives reported the 38-year-old woman missing. Friends and family had become alarmed when the mother four didn’t show up for work at an Athens hospital.
