The event raises funds for the club’s community projects, including a project planned in May to mark the club’s 75th anniversary in existence.
The club was founded in 1937 by a group of local businessmen and first met at the Hotel Canton downtown on the square. The club met there for 23 years.
Today the organization has about 50 members and meets Tuesdays at noon at the Conference Center. Projects undertaken by the club include supporting MUST Ministries, Habitat for Humanity, the worldwide effort to eliminate polio through Polio Plus and the Georgia Rotary Student Program, in which the local club participates annually.
The club also recognizes volunteers from throughout the community for their service.
This year’s Affair to Remember is from 7 to 11 p.m. and features the New Horizons Band, dinner and cocktails.
Purchasing a ticket for $100 also enters supporters into a drawing for cash prizes of $2,500, $1,000 and $500. Those who purchase a ticket do not have to be present to win the cash prizes.
The evening of fun and entertainment will also feature a silent auction including a painting by local artist Elly Hobgood, jewelry and art of all types, and door prizes will be given away to those in attendance.
