CANTON — A Stone Mountain man remains behind bars after police say he sent nude photos of himself to a Canton 13-year-old. Kyle Alexander Williams, 24, is in the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center and has been charged with violating the Computer Pornography and Child Exploitation Prevention Act and electronically furnishing obscene material to minors, police say. Williams was arrested in his DeKalb County home in Stone Mountain after nearly a month-long investigation by the Canton Police Department, according to the local police department. The department on April 2 first received a report of inappropriate communication when the 13-year-old girl’s father informed detectives his daughter was communicating with a 17-year-old male on a social networking site. Sgt. Stacy Bailey, public information officer with the police department, said the father made the report when he learned the communication “started to get inappropriate.” Canton detectives worked undercover to identify Williams and communicate with him online. Bailey said the man was aware the girl was 13. During the investigation, police discovered Williams was in fact not 17, and eventually arranged a meeting between him and what he thought was the girl. Police say Williams believed the meeting was with the 13-year-old to engage in sexual acts. The suspect also sent photos of his genitals to the teenager, police said. Bailey said detectives reported more than one lewd photo was sent to the girl by the suspect. She also said it’s unknown if Williams has a history of soliciting minors for sexual purposes. Williams remains in custody with a $13,700 bond.
