Tight timeline for school board district maps

Cherokee County School Board Attorney Tom Roach told Board of Education members at Thursday night’s meeting that he has not yet received pre-clearance from the U.S. Justice Department for the new school board district maps.

Elections Superintendent Janet Munda she's been in contact with the DOJ and they are "looking to have all submissions (approved) by Monday." Qualifying begins Wednesday, Munda said. “We are under a very tight deadline.”
