Mr. Roy A. Elrod, 82, of Woodstock, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm Monday, May 28, 2012 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Junior Luttrell and Rev. Everett Hightower officiating. Interment will follow in Sunlight Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends all day Sunday and Monday until the funeral hour at the funeral home. Mr. Elrod was a member of Sunlight Baptist Church and Woodstock Masonic Lodge # 246. He was retired from Cutter’s Exchange Inc. Survivors include his wife, Helen Elrod of Woodstock; children, Annette Broome, Carol (Darin) Gardner, Rodney (Heather) Elrod and Roy Michael (Brianna) Elrod all of Woodstock; sister, Vera Hitt of Woodstock; brothers, Frank Elrod of Woodstock and Tommy Elrod of Ball Ground; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
