Mrs. Sarah Hales, 85, of Canton, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Northside Hospital Cherokee. Funeral services were held at 4 pm Monday, May 28, 2012 at the Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. Joey DuBois, Rev. Daryl Bailey and Rev. Matt Foster officiating. Interment was in the Church Cemetery. Mrs. Hales was a homemaker and member of Hopewell Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Hales and brother, Oran Barnes; survivors include her children, Ronald (Beverly) Hales of Canton, Bobby (Brenda) Hales of Canton and Patricia (David) Cloud of Jasper; brother, Lamar (Syble) Barnes of Canton; sisters, Mary Ann (Luther) Weatherby, Patsy (Harold) Fendley, Peggy (Ottis) Page, Sue McFarland, Brenda (Johnny) McPherson all of Canton and Norma (Tommy) Teague of Jasper; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
