Kenneth Gonzalez, 53, was arrested by Cobb County Police around 1:50 p.m. on charges of driving under the influence. Charges for a hit and run are pending, according to the Woodstock Police Department.
Gonzalez is accused of hitting a construction worker, whose name hasn't been released, on I-575 south just before Towne Lake Parkway in Woodstock around 9:30 a.m.
Woodstock Police said the victim was seriously injured and was taken to Kennestone Hospital in critical condition by ambulance.
