Clayton F. Osbon is charged with interfering with a flight crew and has undergone a court-ordered psychiatric exam. U.S. District Judge Mary Lou Robinson could rule Friday after evidence is presented at the hearing in Amarillo.
Witnesses say Osbon ran through the cabin during the New York to Las Vegas flight screaming about Jesus and al-Qaida. The first officer locked him out of the cockpit and passengers wrestled him to the floor. The plane made an emergency landing in Amarillo.
Ten passengers sued JetBlue this week over the incident.
