Already this summer, the Canton Theatre has premiered “Comics for a Cause,” a fundraiser for cancer awareness, on June 21 and will be opening the Saline Fiddlers’ “Song of the Southeast Tour” on Wednesday.
Other shows being presented at the Canton Theatre this summer include the gospel group “The Talleys” on Saturday, the Coconut Grove Players Variety Show, a show that includes magic, comedy, and ventriloquism, on July 13 and 14, and Annie in August.
Additional gospel groups will also be playing at the Canton Theatre toward the end of summer and throughout fall, with Jeff and Sheri Easter making their way into Canton on Aug. 17, Greater Vision playing on Sept. 28, and the Primitive Quartet coming to town on Oct. 28.
The Canton Theatre will be holding an open house later this summer, with a performance by the western band Stone Cold Country.
“They are playing for no charge,” said Seguin. “It’s a great way to get people into the theater.”
As manager, Seguin feels that this list of showings gives the Canton Theatre the opportunity to appeal to many different groups of people.
“These shows offer a wide variety of entertainment,” said Seguin.
