A spokesman for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office said charges against the 26-year-old are pending.
Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the sheriff’s office, said deputies were dispatched to the wreck on Highway 92 near Daventry Crossing.
Aaron Pieper of Marietta was life-flighted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta after his Honda Accord collided with the driver of a Ford F-250.
The 22-year-old driver of the Ford, Juan Carlos Justo-Hernandez of Roswell, was not injured in the accident.
“Although the accident remains under investigation, it appears Pieper made a left turn in front of Hernandez and was struck on the passenger side of his Honda,” Baker said Tuesday.
As of Tuesday, Pieper remains in the Intensive Care Unit at Grady Hospital with a severe head injury.
The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the accident, Baker said.
