ACWORTH — A teenager and a man were arrested Saturday in connection with numerous reports of theft from vehicles in the Twin Pines subdivision off Kellogg Creek Road in Acworth and the Wyngate community in Towne Lake.

Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Andrew Birch, 17, of Woodstock, and Dallas Walker, 21, of Woodstock, after a foot chase Saturday morning, spokesman Lt. Jay Baker said Sunday.

The value of the property stolen is estimated at about $1,500 and included items such as iPads, iPhones, jewelry, sunglasses and cash, Baker said Monday.

“Investigators are confident that all the property that was stolen has been recovered,” Baker said. “(We) are currently meeting with victims and are in the process of returning the property.”

Birch and Walker were originally charged with nine counts of entering an automobile, burglary, and possession of marijuana less than an ounce and Birch was also charged with obstruction.

However, the two were charged with an additional nine counts of entering an automobile after the Wyngate thefts were reported later on Saturday, Baker said Monday.

Both were at Cherokee County Adult Detention Center as of press time. Birch had a $64,135 bond and Walker had a $63,455 bond.
