The good thing about Aug. 3 through Sept. 10 (five weeks) is our do-nothing Congress will not be in Washington but will be somewhere else doing nothing on their five-week vacation you and I are paying for.
I doubt if anyone reading my e-mail has ever had a five week paid vacation — I certainly haven’t.
Yesterday, we had a small-businessperson come to our office to diagnose a computer failure. He is about 50 years old, and was victim of a company downsizing in the early stages of the non-recession we’re still in.
He is one of millions who have lost their jobs and is creatively surviving. He found our problem, recommended an economical fix, and in about an hour and a half had us up and running again.
He and others like him are the only thing saving America. The sad, sad thing is how hard politicians locally, state-wide and nationally are making it for this guy and me to carry our loads.
You can bet he and I will be voting in every election.
We need every hardworking legal citizen voting also. We need to vote in a majority of politicians who will help us save America.
We need to vote down every tax increase and force all our governments, bottom to top, to really get serious about spending money we don’t have.
We need honest, dedicated individuals to help us take back our country — before it’s too late.
