The Times of Gainesville reports that Lynitra Ross was accused of being the “go-between” in a plot to kill Richard Schoeck at Belton Bridge Park in Lula. A jury had convicted her May 22.
Superior Court Judge Jason Deal said at Thursday’s sentencing that Ross never appeared remorseful for her role in the plot.
Schoeck, of Snellville, was shot to death as he waited for his wife at the park in Lula to exchange Valentine’s gifts.
Prosecutors have said his wife, Stacey Schoeck, with Ross’ help, hired a hit man to do the killing. Stacey Schoeck and the accused gunman also face charges in the slaying.
