The Canton Police Department have identified the two suspects who they say stole 38 Apple iPods from Walmart Supercenter as Dexter Damion Griffith, 20, and Joshua Ryan Cole, 22, both of Lawrenceville.
Detective Rodney Campbell with the department said on Wednesday the suspects are possibly responsible for at least 14 similar thefts in Georgia and Alabama.
Campbell said they were able to identify the suspects through interviews.
Campbell said the department secured search warrants related to the investigation and there are active warrants for felony theft by shoplifting outstanding for both suspects.
Police say the suspects stole the iPods, valued at $5,800, from the electronics department of the store.
Photos taken from security cameras inside the store show the suspects leaving the location, at 1550 River Stone Parkway, police say.
Security video from the parking lot of the store shows the suspects leaving the scene in a dark-colored sport utility vehicle, possibly a Jeep Grand Cherokee, but the quality of the video could not pick up the vehicle’s tag number, police say.
If anyone has any information on the suspects, they are asked to call Canton Police at (770) 720-4883.
Callers can remain anonymous by calling in to the tip line at (770) 345-4189.
After hours, they can also call Cherokee 911.
