CHEROKEE — Georgia State Patrol reports that a driver was in custody after crashing a stolen car on Interstate 75 in Cherokee County, just north of the Cobb County line.

The crash happened this morning when a silver Jeep Cherokee was attempting to elude Bartow County Sheriff’s deputies, according to the state patrol.

The driver, who according to reports said was doing 100 mph, ran up under the rear of a tractor-trailer that was slowing for traffic, according to the state patrol.

The driver of the Jeep sustained only cuts and abrasions, authorities said.
